History of “The Legacy”

After a round of golf, Murray Krambeer, Tim Schulz, Mick Shonsey and John Knicely were talking with a number of other individuals and the idea of starting a tournament in Omaha was discussed. Many ideas were passed around and we finally came up with a model that will make the city of Omaha proud in terms of how it is run, what the players receive and most importantly, will benefit charities, worthwhile causes, and area high school students.

Our goal is to have participants feel that this is the best golf tournament they play and that they are always welcome. We wanted to make sure there was a championship flight, flights for golfers that wanted to compete with others that their own level and a flight for seniors. As the time passes, we will no doubt make changes that people have suggested but the basic premise will always remain — TREAT THE PLAYERS FIRST CLASS AND RAISE MONEY FOR WORTHWHILE CAUSES.
